Hungary Trade Surplus Declines In March

Hungary's merchandise trade surplus decreased from the previous month in March, final data released by the Central Statistical Office showed Friday.

The trade surplus dropped to EUR635.9 million in March from EUR691.2 million in February. In March 2011, the trade balance was a surplus of EUR836.6 million.

Export of goods increased to EUR7.10 billion in March from EUR6.61 billion in February. Imports climbed to EUR6.47 billion in March from EUR5.91 billion in the previous month.

In the January-March period, the trade surplus decreased by EUR383 million year-on-year EUR1.75 billion. Exports increased 1.6 percent annually during the three-month period, while imports advanced 0.9 percent.
