Allscripts To Nominate Three New Independent Directors To Board - Quick Facts

Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, Inc. (MDRX: Quote) and HealthCor Management, L.P. Friday said Allscripts would nominate Stuart Bascomb, David Stevens and Randy Thurman as new independent directors for election to the Allscripts Board of Directors at the company's 2012 Annual Meeting of Stockholders scheduled for June 15.

HealthCor owns around 6.1 percent of the outstanding shares of Allscripts' common stock.

All three director nominees are highly-qualified professionals with significant expertise in the healthcare industry. Each of them has previously served on the boards of directors of public companies and private organizations.

Allscripts and HealthCor also said that folowing their agreement, HealthCor would withdraw its claims against the company pending in the Court of Chancery for the State of Delaware. It will also vote for all the company's nominees at the annual meeting.

Existing home sales in the U.S. saw a modest increase in the month of April, according to a report released by the National Association of Realtors on Wednesday. NAR said existing home sales climbed 0.6 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.97 million in April from an upwardly revised 4.94 million in March.
