The Killers have announced that their new album will be called Battle Born. The Las Vegas band's fourth record will be the follow up to 2008's Day & Age.

Frontman Brandon Flowers explains the album title in an interview with Rolling Stone, saying, "In a sense, all Americans are battle born. Our ancestors came here for something better."

Drummer Ronnie Vanucci chimed in during the sit-down, saying "[The album is] living up to its title. This is our difficult fourth record."

As for the overall sound of the album, bassist Mark Stoermer previously told NME, "Stylistically, it's pushing in more of a rock direction than the last album. But we're also doing something we haven't done before."

But for those fans hoping for that classic Killers sound, Stoermer assured that the album will "definitely sound like us."
