Starz' series "Spartacus" will end next season, its creator Steven S. DeKnight tells Entertainment Weekly, adding that the final season will be its most spectacular:

"This season is bigger than anything we've attempted. The scope and scale is just amazing. We're dealing with massive battles between thousands of people. We hope to leave people feel satisfied."

". . . in the end, the story was best served by rolling all of the remaining action and drama of Spartacus' journey into one stunningly epic season that will be extremely satisfying for everyone who's been along for the ride," he added.

The last season "Spartacus Vengeance," averaged over 6 million viewers per week. Its third and final season, "Spartacus: War of the Damned," is currently in production in New Zealand.

It is comprised of 10 episodes which are set to air in January.
