Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen took home the Womenswear Designer of the Year award at the Council of Fashion Designers of America's annual awards ceremony in New York earlier this week. The former child stars own and run a fashion label called The Row.
The pair squared off against some of the world's top fashion veterans including Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler. It is the first time the twins have taken the award for their label, which was launched in 2007.
The event was hosted by "Saturday Night Live" comic Seth Meyers and included appearances by icons of both the fashion and film worlds. Theory and Helmut Lang CEO Andrew Rosen was honoured with the Founders Award and Tommy Hilfiger received the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.
Johnny Depp was also honored as this year's Fashion Icon.
