It may come as no surprise, but the Beatles have been named the biggest selling singles act in the UK since records began being kept 60 years ago.
The Fab Four edged Elvis Presley out of the top slot and bumped Cliff Richard to third all-time in a new list compiled by the Official Charts Company. Madonna takes fourth place in the list followed in fifth by Michael Jackson.
"This list is intriguing, Adele is missing and we've all forgotten just how huge artists such as Shakin' Stevens, Boney M and UB40 were in the UK in the '70s and '80s," Radio 2's Head of Music Jeff Smith said of the list.
The Beatles have scored 17 number one singles, while Richard has had 14 number ones.
