Lithuanian Inflation Slows For Third Month

Lithuania's consumer price inflation slowed for the third consecutive month in May, data released by the Department of Statistics showed Friday.

Annual inflation slowed to 2.5 percent in May from 3.2 percent in April. In March, the rate of inflation was 3.6 percent.

Food prices advanced 0.9 percent annually, while clothing and footwear prices decreased 1.6 percent. There was 7.4 percent year-on-year increase in housing costs and utility prices during the month, and a 4.8 percent growth in transportation costs.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent in May, after rising 0.6 percent in the previous month, data showed.
