At 8:30 am ET Friday, Canada's trade data for April and jobs report for May were released. After these reports, the loonie edged down against other major currencies.
At present, the loonie is trading at 1.2887 against the euro, 76.83 against the yen, 1.0185 against the aussie and 1.0334 against the greenback.
