Former Fleetwood Mac guitarist/vocalist Bob Welch has died from an apparent suicide after shooting himself in the chest.
His wife Wendy found the 66-year-old's body at their home in Nashville, Tennessee, on this past Thursday around midday.
Police spokesman Don Aaron said Welch left a suicide note and had been suffering from undisclosed "health issues" recently.
Long-time Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks released a statement expressing her sorrow.
"The death of Bob Welch is devastating. I had many great times with him after Lindsey and I joined Fleetwood Mac. He was an amazing guitar player — he was funny, sweet and he was smart. I am so very sorry for his family and for the family of Fleetwood Mac - so, so sad."
Welch was a guitarist/vocalist with the band from 1971-74.
