Turkish Current Account Deficit Narrows In April

Turkey's current account deficit fell notably in April, data from the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey showed Monday.

The current account balance was in deficit of $4.95 billion in April, down from a deficit of $6.25 billion in March. In April last year, the shortfall was $7.66 billion.

The balance on goods account amounted to $5.34 billion deficit, less than March's deficit of $6.06 billion. The deficit on service also slid to $4.37 billion.

The shortfall on income account dropped to $5.12 billion. The net inflow of current transfers rose to $161 million from $85 million in the preceding month.
