Nicki Minaj has been added to the bill of BBC Radio 1's Hackney Weekend, on Saturday, June 23, the fest's opening night. The Young Money rapper is the opening act for headliner Jay-Z. Rihanna headlines the second night.
Other acts scheduled for the event include Azealia Banks, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Deadmau5, DJ Fresh, Florence and the Machine, Jack White, B.o.B., Dappy, Chase & Status, Ed Sheeran, Flux Pavilion and Doctor P, Lethal B, Jessie J, Kasabian, Lana del Rey, Leona Lewis, Nas, Sean Paul, Swedish House Mafia, Tinie Tempah and will.i.am.
Hackney Weekend is part of the London 2012 Festival, the general banner for Olympic celebration related events; the two-day concert takes place in the Hackney Marshes and is expected to host 100,000 or so people.
