Brad Paisley got the CMA International Artist Achievement Award during CMA's Music fest on Thursday, June 7.
He was presented with the award by CMA's CEO Steve Moore, who interrupted a press conference Paisley was giving in order to present him with the award. Moore then ticked off a list of Paisley's recent achievements:
"Since the year 2000, he has been playing and performing all over the world -- Canada, Europe, Japan. Last year, he played the new arena in London and went on to play three sold-out shows across Ireland, and onto Scandinavia to over 40,000 fans."
The CMA International Achievement Award is given each year to an American artist who helps boost the country genre's global popularity.
In the past, the award has gone to Taylor Swift, Brooks & Dunn, Dierks Bentley and Dwight Yoakam.
