Casey's General Stores Q4 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

Casey's General Stores, Inc. (CASY: Quote) reported that its fourth-quarter net earnings were $23.07 million or $0.60 per share, compared to $22.77 million or $0.60 per share in the same quarter last year. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.67 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total revenues for the quarter rose to $1.75 billion from $1.55 billion in the prior year quarter. Four analysts had consensus revenue estimate of $1.74 billion for the quarter.

In the fourth quarter, same-store gallons sold rose 2.5% with an average margin of 13.7 cents per gallon.

At its June meeting, the company said its Board of Directors increased the quarterly dividend to $0.165 per share. The dividend is payable August 15, 2012 to shareholders of record on August 1, 2012.
