Spain May Inflation Confirmed At 1.9%

Spain's annual inflation slowed as initially estimated in May, the statistical office INE showed Wednesday.

EU harmonized inflation fell to 1.9 percent, in line with flash estimate, from 2 percent a month ago. Month-on-month, the harmonized index dropped 0.2 percent.

Consumer price inflation also eased to 1.9 percent, from 2.1 percent in April. The rate matched the flash estimate published on May 30. On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.1 percent in May, while economists were forecasting a 0.2 percent fall.
