French Current Account Deficit Narrows In April

The French current account deficit decreased to EUR 4.2 billion in April from EUR 4.4 billion in March, the Bank of France said Wednesday.

The trade in goods showed a shortfall of EUR 6.1 billion compared to a deficit of EUR 6 billion in the prior month. Meanwhile, the surplus in services fell to EUR 1.6 billion from EUR 1.8 billion.

Incomes rose to EUR 2.7 billion from EUR 2.2 billion a month ago. At the same time, the shortfall in current transfers remained unchanged at EUR 2.4 billion.
