Italy May HICP Inflation At 3.5%, Unrevised

Italy's inflation, as measured by the harmonized index of consumer prices, eased to 3.5 percent in May, final report from the statistical office Istat confirmed Wednesday.

The HICP rose 3.5 percent in May, after climbing 3.7 percent in April. The rate is at a three-month low. Month-on-month, the index remained unchanged.

The consumer price index (CPI) rose 3.2 percent year-on-year, following a 3.3 percent gain in April. Month-on-month, the CPI remained unchanged.

Core inflation, which excludes price changes in energy and fresh food, fell to 2.2 percent from 2.3 percent.

All the figures matched preliminary estimates.
