Hugh Laurie is in talks to join the cast of the upcoming "RoboCop" reboot. If inked the British actor would play the role of the nefarious exec behind the robo-tech.
Joel Kinnaman ("The Killing") has signed on for the lead role, while Gary Oldman, Abbie Cornish, and Samuel L. Jackson co-star in the film from director Jose Padilha ("Elite Squad").
The movie begins shooting in Toronto this summer and is slated for release sometime in 2013.
Laurie starred in "House" for eight seasons, getting five Emmy nods in the process. He most recently appeared on the big screen in "The Oranges," as the pivot man in the ensemble indie drama.
"I feel a huge satisfaction that we got to the end with our dignity intact," Laurie told the Washington Post after "House" was canceled. "I never felt that we did anything that wasn't true to the character or the show."
