"Saturday Night Live" star Andy Samberg has reportedly signed on to appear in a new BBC comedy series titled "Cuckoo." According to a report from EW.com Samberg will play a know-it-all hippy who moves in with his new wife's family. The show also stars Greg Davies ("The Inbetweeners").
The series will play out in six parts and was created by Robin French and Kieron Quirke, best known for their series "Trinity." Producer Ash Atalla ("The Office") says that the series will mark a great melding of British and American comedy:
"The best of British meets the toast of Hollywood," Atalla tells the BBC. "We hope Cuckoo cements the special relationship between our two great countries. I imagine [President Barack] Obama and [U.K. Prime Minister David] Cameron will be watching closely."
Samberg recently confirmed that he will depart SNL after his seventh season.
