Corsa Coal Corp. (CSO.V) said Thursday that in its second quarter 2012, it sold 72,000 clean tons of metallurgical coal at an average realized price of US$152 per clean ton FOB its preparation plant, exceeding its published guidance of 65,000 to 70,000 tons.
The company also said it sold 38,000 tons of thermal coal during the quarter at an average price of $32 a ton.
Looking ahead, the company said prospects look promising as both volumes and pricing have begun to indicate an improving trend. The company expects to ship about 140,000 clean tons of metallurgical coal in the third quarter. The order book for the fourth quarter continues to build and management is optimistic that the sales trend is positive, it noted.
