Joss Stone has released "(For God's Sake) Give More Power to the People," from her forthcoming album, The Soul Sessions, Volume 2. The track is a cover of the Chi-Lites' 1971 single.
"I really had fun revisiting The Soul Sessions' idea and I'm really pleased with the results," said Stone of her sophomore effort.
"I've committed long term to my label Stone'd Records, but it felt right to team up with Steve Greenberg and S-Curve again for this release. I think there are some great songs on the album and I loved performing them with such brilliant musicians," she added.
Stone also spoke with Billboard on the tenor of another of the album's tracks, "High Road":
"I think 'High Road' is quite a different one for me. It's still soul but it's got a darker tone to it, certainly in the beginning of the song."
The Soul Sessions, Volume 2, is due July 31.
