The British currency extended its previous session's uptrend against the US dollar in New York mid-day deals on Friday. At present, the sterling is trading near a new multi-week high of 1.5661 versus the greenback, compared to yesterday's close of 1.5564. On the upside, 1.5718 is seen as the next target level for the U.K.'s currency.
