Against its US and Canadian counterparts, the Australian dollar traded further higher during new York mid-day deals on Friday. At 11:30 am ET, the Aussie jumped to near a 5-week high of 1.0071 versus the greenback, which may be compared to Thursday's closing value of 1.0026. The pair is currently trading near 1.0059.
As of now, the Australian currency is trading more than a 7-week high of 1.0310 versus the loonie from yesterday's North American session close of 1.0255.
