Descartes Completes Acquisition Of Integrated Export Systems Business

Descartes Systems Group Inc. (DSG.TO: Quote,DSGX: Quote) said Friday that it has closed its acquisition of substantially all of the assets of Integrated Export Systems, Ltd. and IES Asia Ltd..

The all cash purchase price for the acquisition of the IES business was US$ 35.0 million, with Descartes acquiring about US$ 0.8 million in working capital.

On June 13, Descartes announced the signing of the definitive agreement to acquire those assets from IES, subject to fulfilment of typical closing conditions.

After reporting a sharp drop in new orders for manufactured durable goods in the previous month, the Commerce Department released a report on Friday showing that durable goods orders rebounded by more than anticipated in the month of April. The report said durable goods orders surged up by 3.3 percent in April after tumbling by a revised 5.9 percent in March.
