PETA has sent a 70th birthday card to Paul McCartney for his help in raising awareness for ethical animal treatment. The card featured people dressed as animals in a parody of the famous Abby Road Beatles cover.
The people hold a sign which reads "Happy Birthday, Paul! Thank You for Loving Us, Not Eating Us."
"PETA couldn't be happier to celebrate Sir Paul's birthday," said PETA Manager Mimi Bekhechi. "He has done so much to help animals during his legendary career, and we can't think of a person more deserving of celebration."
Macca has been a vegetarian for over 40 years, a decision he hopes more will eventually make:
"I've often said, 'If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be vegetarian', I hope that once you see the routine cruelty involved in raising, transporting, and killing animals for food, you'll join the millions of people who have decided to leave meat off their plates—for good."
