Finland Tourist Overnight Stays Remain Stable In April

Tourist overnight stays in Finnish accommodation establishments remained unchanged from last year in April, data released by Statistics Finland showed Thursday.

The total number of nights spent by tourists remained unchanged year-on-year at around 1.4 million in April.

Stays by foreign tourists rose 5 percent annually to about 318,000 during the month, while overnight stays by resident tourists decreased 2 percent, data showed.

With a 24 percent annual growth, Norway had the maximum number of tourists staying in Finland during the month, followed by Estonians whose number increased 19 percent year-on-year.

In the January-April period, around 6 million tourists stayed in Finnish accommodation facilities, up 5 percent compared to the same period last year.
