The Office for National Statistics is slated to publish U.K. retail sales data for May at 4.30 am ET Thursday. Ahead of the data, the pound showed mixed trading against other major currencies. While the pound ticked up against the franc and the euro, it slipped against the greenback. Against the yen, the pound recovered from its recent low.
At 4:25 am ET, the pound was quoted at 1.5680 against the greenback, 124.99 against the yen, 0.8074 against the euro and 1.4886 against the franc.
