Slovenian Output Price Inflation Quickens In May

Slovenia's producer price inflation increased modestly in May, data released by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia showed Thursday.

Output price inflation rose to 1 percent in May from 0.7 percent in April, which was unchanged from the preceding month.

Output prices of goods sold in the domestic market grew 1.3 percent annually, while prices in the non-domestic market rose 0.8 percent during the month.

Prices in the mining and quarrying sector advanced 1 percent annually during the month, while manufacturing prices rose 1.1 percent. There was a 0.2 percent year-on-year rise in prices of electricity, data showed.

On a monthly basis, output prices edged up 0.2 percent in May, following the previous month's 0.4 percent gain.
