Kristen Stewart Tops Forbes Highest Paid Actress List

Kristen Stewart has topped Forbes annual list of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood. The "Twilight" star raked in an estimated $34.5 million between May 2011 to May 2012, edging other silver screen icons including Cameron Diaz, who came in second with $34 million.

According to Forbes, the 22-year-old's massive financial year is attributed almost entirely to the smash hit vampire film series, but also says that film studios are obliged to cough up the big money if they want to work with Stewart:

"The star becomes indispensable," notes Forbes, "and the studio has to pay up."

Sandra Bullock was a distant third with $25 million. And though Hollywood's leading ladies certainly aren't strapped for cash, the articles note that there remains a pay difference between men and women in Tinsel Town:

"The 10 women who make up our list earned a total $200 million compared to the $361 million brought in by our top 10 men."
