American Software Q4 Profit Up

American Software, Inc. (AMSWA: Quote) Thursday reported a fourth-quarter profit of $3.5 million or $0.13 per share, up from $2.8 million or $0.10 per share in the prior-year quarter. Profit growth was helped mainly by higher revenues.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter were $3.8 million or $0.14 per share, compared to $3.0 million or $0.11 per share last year.

Fourth-quarter revenues totaled $27.9 million, up 11 percent from $25.2 million last year.

Software license fee revenues decreased 9 percent from last year, while services and other revenues increased 26 percent. Maintenance revenues increased 9 percent to $8.4 million from $7.6 million last year.

After showing a lack of direction throughout much of the session, stocks ended Monday's trading modestly lower.
