John Travolta and his attorney Marty Singer are being sued by Robert Randolph, the author of "You'll Never Spa in This Town Again," a book detailing the culture of gay bathhouses, who says the pair libeled him after Singer slammed Gawker which had published parts of the book detailing Travolta's sex life.
Randolph says that Singer's comments to Gawker have ruined his reputation. He is suing for malicious prosecution.
"Several of the statements made by Defendant Singer, on behalf of Defendant Travolta, are untrue and amount to defamatory statements sought to disparage the quality of [Randolph's] property and reputation and to induce members of the public to believe [Randolph] is an unreliable source and thus abstain from purchasing" his book, the complaint reads.
A rep for Travolta issued a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, arguing that the "suit is based on a privileged communication, and it will promptly be thrown out by the court."
