Katy Perry has finally opened up about her divorce from actor Russell Brand, who filed for divorce from the singer about six months ago.
The "California Gurls" singer has been quiet regarding the issue until now. In her new movie, Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D, she talks about the reasons why her marriage from Brand fell apart, one of those reasons being her busy touring schedule. She says in the movie that days off from her world tour she would take side trips to see Brand, yet the time apart for them was still hard on their relationship.
"I thought to myself, 'When I find that person that's going to be my life partner, I won't ever have to choose [between the partner and my career] . . . they won't be threatened or have weird motives," Perry says. "Then I started to realize, that's not true. That fairytale I had is not true for me right now."
Katy Perry: Part Of Me 3D opens on July 5.
