Christopher Meloni, best known for his starring role on "Law & Order: SVU," has reportedly signed on to appear in a new romantic comedy titled "They Came Together." The film stars Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler and centers on an independent candle shop owner who fights a corporation to stay open.
Meloni will reportedly appear as Rudd's boss at CorporateCo Corporation. The film also stars Ed Helms, Jason Mantzoukas, Noureen DeWulf, Cobie Smulders, Max Greenfield and Michael Ian Black. The spoof rom-com comes from director David Wain and will be released through Lionsgate.
The new project comes at a busy time for Meloni, who is also currently appearing on the current season of "True Blood" as a vampire named Roman. He also continues on in his role as Detective Elliot Stabler on "Law & Order: SVU."
