The Black Keys have filed separate lawsuits against Home Depot and Pizza Hut. The actions come after both companies used their songs in advertisements without permission from the band.
Home Depot, according to the suit, used portions of the Keys' hit "Lonely Boy," while Pizza Hut used "Gold on the Ceiling."
"The experts confirmed that this was copyright infringement," said Black Keys spokeswoman Mary Moyer in a statement. The band have issued cease and desist orders and seek over $75,000 in damages from each company.
Meanwhile, the Keys have tacked on a string of dates on the West Coast to their current world tour. The duo will do seven shows throughout the Southwest and West Coast and from October 1 to October 10. They will be making stops in Fresno, San Diego, Los Angeles and Phoenix, before heading across the Pacific for the Australian/New Zealand leg of the tour.
