POZEN Inc. (POZN: Quote), a pharmaceutical company, said the United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued to POZEN U.S. Patent 8,206,741 titled 'Pharmaceutical Compositions for the Coordinated Delivery of NSAIDs'. This patent comprises claims to pharmaceutical compositions containing aspirin and a proton pump inhibitor or PPI.

POZEN's PA combination drug candidates are covered under this patent. The '741 patent is the second U.S. patent issued to POZEN for the coordinated delivery of NSAIDs, but the first in which the claims are focused on aspirin-based products.

U.S. Durable Goods Orders Rise 3.3% In April, More Than Expected

After reporting a sharp drop in new orders for manufactured durable goods in the previous month, the Commerce Department released a report on Friday showing that durable goods orders rebounded by more than anticipated in the month of April. The report said durable goods orders surged up by 3.3 percent in April after tumbling by a revised 5.9 percent in March.
