"Olympus Has Fallen," a thriller from director Antoine Fuqua ("Training Day") will star Angela Bassett and Aaron Eckhart.
Gerard Butler is the leading man, playing a Secret Service agent attempting to save the president (Eckhart) when the White house is overrun by North Korean terrorists who plan to set off nuclear weapons on U.S. soil. Bassett plays the Secret Service head.
Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt wrote the script (their first) for the Mark Gil, Gerard Butler and Alan Siegel produced flick. No date has been given for a filming start date.
"Olympus Has Fallen" has the same plot as "White House Down," set to premiere sometime in 2013. In that pic Channing Tatum is the Secret Service agent, Jamie Foxx is the president and Roland Emmerich is directing.
