Lawyers for Trey Songz and Dave Hester have dismissed their lawsuits and reached a settlement after Songz had sued Hester over the latter's use of the phrase "YUUUUP!" The parties did not reveal the details of the agreement.
Both Songz and Hester claimed they have the official trademark to the catch phrase, and both parties also sell merchandise that features the phrase, according to court documents filed in New York in April.
Hester originally sued last year, asking a judge to allow him to continue selling merchandise and using the term, even after Songz had sent him a cease and desist letter.
Songz responded, in papers filed on April 2, claiming he has had the right to use the trademark since 2009, while Hester only filed his trademark in 2011.
