Rumors are swirling that Savannah Guthrie may take over for Ann Curry as the new co-host for "Today" show. Curry has reportedly accepted a $10 million severance package to exit the show, which has suffered a dip in ratings since she took over as co-host a year ago.
The news comes via hollywoodreporter.com, who also reports that Curry is still negotiating her exit from the show and the she will likely remain with NBC in some capacity.
Speaking with Ladies Home Journal, Curry addressed the criticism she has faced since taking the spot of Meredith Vieira last year:
"When people say negative things or speculate, you can't help but feel hurt. I know NBC pays my salary, but I have never doubted who I work for. I think about the people who watch. They're the ones who matter to me. I want to feel I haven't dropped the ball when it comes to them," she said.
