Hutchinson Technology Inc. (HTCH: Quote) said Wednesday that it expects to report net sales of about $60 million for the third quarter of fiscal 2012.
In the second quarter of fiscal 2012, the company's net sales was $65.5 million.
Average selling price for the third quarter declined to $0.58 from $0.59 in the year-ago third quarter and $0.63 in the preceding quarter.
In the latest quarter, the company shipped 100 million suspension assemblies, lower than its guidance of 105 million to 115 million.
Hutchinson noted that the decline in average selling price, along with lower than expected shipments resulted in lower net sales for the quarter
