Slovenia's consumer price inflation slowed for the second consecutive month in June, data released by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia showed Friday.
The consumer price index increased 2.3 percent year-on-year in June, following the previous month's 2.4 percent rise. In March, the rate of growth was 2.6 percent.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose 3.7 percent annually, while clothing and footwear prices moved up 1.6 percent. There was a 4.9 percent year-on-year gain in housing costs and utility prices during the month, and a 2.6 percent growth in transportation costs.
Month-on-month, consumer prices dropped 0.6 percent in June, reversing the previous month's 0.6 percent decrease.
Separately, the agency said Slovenia's retail sales decreased 1 percent month-on-month in April. Sales, excluding automotive fuel, meanwhile rose 0.2 percent sequentially. Compared to April 2011, retail sales decreased 3.4 percent, data showed.
