Portugal's retail sales decreased at a slower pace in May, data released by Statistics Portugal showed Friday.
Retail sales decreased 5 percent year-on-year in May, slower than the 9.9 percent fall recorded in April. In March, sales dropped 4.5 percent annually.
Retail sales of food beverages and tobacco decreased 1.8 percent annually, while sales of non-food products fell by 8.2 percent.
On a monthly basis, retail sales increased 2.9 percent in May, recovering from the previous month's 2.9 percent decline.
