The Reuters and the University of Michigan's final report on the consumer sentiment index for June is due at 9:55 am ET Friday. Ahead of the data, the greenback moved sideways against the yen but declined against the rest of its major counterparts.
At 9:50 am ET, the greenback was worth 1.2672 against the euro, 1.5693 against the pound, 0.9493 against the franc and 79.56 against the yen.
