CNO Financial Group Inc. (CNO) Friday announced it repurchased 5.65 million shares of its common stock for an aggregate purchase price of $39.3 million, in the second quarter of 2012 under its share repurchase program.
The shares were repurchased at an average cost of $6.95 per share and represented 2.4 percent of the total outstanding shares as of March 31. Total shares repurchased under the program year-to-date total 8.09 million shares for an aggregate purchase price of $58.2 million, at an average cost of $7.19 per share. As of June 29, 2012, the company had about 234 million shares outstanding.
