NYSE Euronext Inc. (NYX) Friday said it raised $17.1 billion in total global proceeds from initial public offerings in the first half of 2012. The company listed a total of 66 IPOs worldwide.
In the U.S., NYSE Euronext listed 62 percent of all U.S. IPOs bringing 56 new IPOs to the U.S. Market. ServiceNow, Inc. (NOW) was the most recent successful listing. Additionally, NYSE got eight listing transfers in the U.S.
With 16 new listings, NYSE Euronext raised approximately €1.2 billion in proceeds in Europe.
The company said it had fewer debuts of large IPOs, compared to last year, with emerging growth companies from technology, financial services and energy being the most active sectors.
"If volatility remains low and economic contagion remains controlled, we expect selective IPO open windows to persist through the second half of 2012" , said Scott Cutler, EVP, head of global listings at NYSE Euronext.
