Van Morrison Speaks On New Album With Blue Note Records

Van Morrison has announced the details of his forthcoming release Born To Sing: No Plan B. The album is distributed through legendary jazz label Blue Note Records and will hit stores on October 2.

Morrison was signed to the deal by producer Don Was, president of Blue Note:

"Over a career that spans decades, Van Morrison has developed a body of work that is unparalleled in its consistent excellence," Was said in a press release. "He is one of the greatest singer/songwriter/musicians of all time."

Morrison also adds that the new label is a good fit:

"To have such a creative music person as the head of my recording label assures me that all the effort taken to write and record this new album will be rewarded with a music-based focus and marketing approach. I look forward to many recording projects with Don and Blue Note."
