Keith Urban says he may consider returning for another season as a judge on the Australian edition of the Voice, but making music is still his top priority. In an interview on Aussie radio, Keith said he will focus on making a new album and then make a decision on the Voice.
"My thing is making sure I have an album done, which is really what I'm doing next week. Mostly I'm just going to be in the studio for the next [few] months. If the record comes together the way I hope it does, I'll definitely be there next year, and if it takes longer, then I'll have to figure out how I can make it work," he told the show.
Urban also made recent headlines when he defended singing contest stars against critics who say they haven't paid their full dues:
"I don't know what sort of courage it takes to get up there -- the idea of doing that is something I find so intimidating and nerve-racking," Keith tells Australia's Herald Sun newspaper. "I don't think anyone gets out of paying their dues -- you just do it in different levels. Maybe it's in front of an arena full of people instead of a pub full of people. Wherever it is, you're still learning in the trenches."
