Motown: The Musical written by Motown founder Berry Gordy will feature music from Michael Jackson, the Temptations and Stevie Wonder.

"Broadway is the pinnacle of live theater and provides a challenging and exciting opportunity to tell my story and share the magic of Motown," Gordy said.

The musical will tell the story of the start of the Motown reign, which began as Tamla Records in 1959. Music from that era will be included, from such luminaries as Diana Ross and the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, the Jackson Five and more.

Motown: The Musical will be directed by Charles Randolph-Wright, who is known for his casting of the original cast of Dreamgirls, which is a musical based on story of the Supremes.
