Three soldiers of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) were shot dead by an individual wearing an Afghan National Police uniform in southern Afghanistan on Sunday.
The gunman was injured and later taken into custody, NATO said.
ISAF said in a statement that it is investigating the incident. It did not identify the nationality of the victims, deferring casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities.
With this, the number of foreign troops killed in Afghanistan this year has risen to 223.
