M83 frontman Anthony Gonzalez will score the soundtrack to Oblivion, an alien invasion flick starring Tom Cruise.
Gonzalez, speaking with The Playlist, unveiled his plans for his first Hollywood soundtrack, noting that it "excited him more than it frightened him":
"I'm not afraid to do my first soundtrack on a big Hollywood movie, with a big budget and a lot of pressure. I like challenges and it excites me more than frightens me."
"My vision is really to have a combination of very electronic moments, very M83, and sometimes merge into something more soundtrack-y, but my kind of soundtracks," he added.
The article also noted that the film's director, Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy) was a big fan of M83. Oblivion is due in theatres April 26, 2013.
