Susan Sarandon has signed on to appear in ShadowMachine's new stop-motion animation thriller "Hell and Back." The Hollywood vet will offer her voice as Barb the Angel in the film, which centers on two friends who hatch a plan to rescue their buddy from the depths of hell.

Nick Swardson, T.J. Miller, Mila Kunis, Bob Odenkirk, Brian Posehn, Kumail Nanjiani and Rob Riggle also star in the film, which is being directed by Tommy Gianas and Ross Shuman. Bob Odenkirk will star in the role of Lucifer, who is becoming desperate for a break from Hell.

Sarandon also made recent headlines with claims that the government may have tapped her phone lines. Sitting alongside activist director Michael Moore at the Tribeca Film Festival for a 75-minute interview, Sarandon was asked by an audience member whether or not she suspected the government was watching her.

The "Thelma and Louise" star explained to an audience at the Tribeca Film Festival that: "We know we're under surveillance . . . I've had my phone tapped."
