American Honda, a unit of Japanese automaker Honda Motor Co. Ltd. (HMC), reported June 2012 U.S. sales of 124,808 units, an increase of 48.8 percent, from 83,892 units in the same month last year.
Total car sales grew 55.9 percent to 69,003 units, from 44,261 units in the same month last year. Total truck sales rose 40.8 percent to 55,805 units from 39,631 units in the prior year month.
The Honda Division posted June 2012 sales of 109,438 units, an increase of 45.6 percent compared with June 2011. Acura's U.S. June sales of 15,370 units increased 76.5 percent compared with June 2011.
